D.I.Y. - Glam Mirror
Everyone wants to add a special touch to their home but it can be really expensive! So many times, when I see cool designs I often think how I could create it myself and save money without skimping on the impact of an incredible piece.
When I was out shopping one day I got the awesome idea to create my own chic lighted mirror from a design I saw in a store that cost over $4000, and now you can create your own too for under $200 that everyone will "wow" over!
What you Need:
- Floor length mirror
- Outdoor string lights with medium/large bulbs (2 - 3 boxes)
- Tape measure
- Hot glue gun
- Hair dryer
Step 1: Measure out the top and sides (leaving out the bottom) in inches.
Step 2: Measure out the length of your string lights from the first to the last bulb in inches.
Step 3: Use a pencil and tape measure to evenly to mark the spacing between each bulb
Step 4: Use hot glue gun to glue the socket of the bulb to the mirror where your pencil marks are so that the bulb is flush with the front edge of the mirror frame. You will need to start on the bottom left or right corner so that you are able to plug in the mirror near the floor so the chord doesn't show.
Step 5: Speed up drying time by using the cool setting of a hair dryer so it is sealed into place
Once everything has completely dried, tape the excess cord to the back of the mirror with a strong tape and plug it in! Now you have a sophisticated addition to your closet, bedroom, or bathroom!
