Metallics in Home Decor

Metallics in Home Decor

If you’re like me, I love having a wow factor in my home whenever people come over. I work hard to make the place I live somewhere I want to be, and so it's a huge compliment when others appreciate the work I've put into it whether they realize they are doing it or not.

When we recently moved, we talked about redoing everything. I wanted to get away from the normal things I'm typically drawn to in home decor and really go for something more sophisticated. Right now, I’m all about the metallics bandwagon.....It’s THE way to go. It’s clean and modern and adds instant mature glam that what I was doing before wasn't doing for me anymore.

The great thing about metallics in home decor, is you can mix/match tones and textures and nothing has to match perfectly for it to look chic. Since metallics have been declared a neutral years ago, it's easy to do whatever you want and get creative and add your own flair with out it being boring.

I try to avoid adding bold pops of color like reds or orange's and go with more neutral colors and greens so you can mix in plants (real or fake) seamlessly. This way your sanctuary is less busy and hectic and looks neat and clean all of the time. If you want to stay totally neutral, just go with whites, creams, grays, or browns.
