Oribe Hair Care
I won't lie, living with a hair stylist definitely has some pretty amazing perks. One of them is being able to try all kinds of amazing different products from different companies with the added benefit of knowing what works best from experience. I posted a few weeks back on the 7 rules to follow when working with your hair stylist, and one thing I've gotten questions about since then is what I use to style my hair.
The important thing with styling is getting the right products that work for you and your hair texture in conjunction with the style you are wanting to go for. One of my favorite lines as I'm sure you guessed from the title, is Oribe (pronounced Or-bay).
If you want to know more about Oribe and the story of the company, you can check it out HERE. Below I'll review what I use in my routine, which takes about 10 minutes from start to finish after showering. Yes, I said 10 minutes.
One reason people don't fool with their hair too much is because they assume it takes forever which isn't always true if you've got the right products! As your reading below, click on the product names and it will take you to the Oribe website for more technical details.
Oribe Shampoo & Conditioner for Volume: First of all, the smell of these are AMAZING. Probably the best smelling products I've ever used to be quite honest. Although I do not shampoo my hair every day, I always put in conditioner if I wet my hair, so a light yet effective conditioner is key, which is exactly what these products give me. My hair feels amazing and soft, but still gives me tons of lift.
Oribe Imperial Blowout Styling Cream: After I wash my hair, I put a small amount of Imperial blowout cream and blow-dry upward using my fingers not a brush. This product is amazing because it helps your blowout last for days so you don't have to shampoo everyday (which can damage your color or the hair itself by over drying it).
Oribe Dry texture Spray: Once my hair is completely dry, I spray a tiny bit of the dry texture spray to give me some texture and a light hold with some movement. This allows me to play with and run my hands through it until I lock in exactly how I want it to look.
The last thing I do is finish off with my favorite brand of extra hold hairspray to freeze it in so tight that not even the winds of San Francisco move my hair. And done!
If you love Oribe as much as I do, comment below on your favorite products! You can get your own products online at www.oribe.com or at select salons like Follicle Hair Salon in Downtown San Francisco.
