Brunch At Little Skillet
Coming off the heels of my birthday weekend, and just in time to start thinking about your weekend plans, I've got a local recommendation! Brunching is almost a religion to some people, me included. My best friend and I always joke that in San Francisco, the brunching hour is the hour that God has blessed because no matter what, the sun is shining on every patio from 11am - 2pm.
Before I moved back downtown, I had the fortune of stumbling upon one of my now favorite spots, Little Skillet in SOMA. Little Skillet is tucked away on Ritch St. between Brannan and Townsend, which is also close to the CalTrain station. The food is amazing and the Bloody Marys are real fresh. Food wise, my favorite is the fried chicken po'boy sandwich (which I always get), but they also have amazing chicken and waffles as well.
Aside from the food, one of the big reasons why this is one of my favorite spots is because you order your food and pay first, so you avoid all of that uncomfortable bill splitting at the end, which makes it convenient for a larger group brunch. This is great because, let's be honest, we all have that one person in our group that gets weird about how much they contribute to the bill, so it eliminates all of that!
Space wise, there is tons of community style seating and a large back room area with even more seating. There may not be bottomless mimosas, but I give this place an A+ for quality, price point, the laid back atmosphere, and for being one of the only places in San Francisco without a wait for brunch!
