D.I.Y. - Holiday Accessories
"Making seasons bright" is one of my favorite lines in Jingle Bells which my dad used to always sing around the holidays (and year round to be honest), and when I think of the holidays all of the glitter and lights are a huge must!
One way you can spice up this holiday season and make it more fun while staying on budget is making some of your holiday accessories. Adding a touch of sparkle is a great statement piece and a wonderful way to showcase your creativity during the holidays and the new year!
This post I'm focusing on ties/bowties, but you can do this project on anything like scarves, lapels, shirt cuffs, etc.
What you need:
- Tie or Bowtie
- Sequins of different size and color
- Hot Glue Gun
Step 1: if you're using a tie, go ahead and tie it to the length you need. If you're using a bowtie, I would suggest using a pre-tied bowtie that you clip in place behind the pre-tied bow.
Step 2: Pick up your sequin with the tweezers and carefully place a drop of hot glue on the back side of the sequin
Step 3: Place strategically on the fabric. If you are using 1 color, get different shades of red to give it dimension and an interesting texture.
Step 4: let the glue dry
Now you have a stand out piece to wow everyone at your holiday gathering, Christmas card, or party!
