Nashville Week - Just Outside
In previous posts I've talked about getting outside of the city to explore the great things that city-adjacent towns can offer, so in the spirit of #NashvilleWeek, I'm going to fill you in on some middle Tennessee gems that you can check out.
So, I couldn't start off without giving a huge shout out to my hometown of Cookeville. When we were visiting, it was so special to me to share with my crew where I grew up, went to college, meet my mom, and go to the places I grew up going to! So many memories of my childhood came rushing back when we visited, and I'm excited to share some of that with everyone.
Cookeville is located directly between Nashville and Knoxville, so if you need a place to stop on your way from Nashville and Dollywood (which is a whole other post all in itself), this would be your stop. Cookeville is a great place for arts and small hometown businesses.
Cookeville is also home to my alma mater Tennessee Technological University and where I became a Phi Gam! Tech is an incredibly beautiful University known mostly for its engineering and nursing programs. If you get a chance, you have to check out campus and take in all of its beauty.
Just outside of Nashville is the beautiful town of Franklin. The birthplace of Miley Cyrus and current home for folks like Justin Timberlake, Jack White, and my sister, Franklin has such a rich southern history for anyone with interested in exploring parts of American history.
Aside from its historical significance, Franklin is literally one of the cutest towns I've ever been to. There are tons of opportunities to shop local (which you know I love) and eat some amazing food all while casually bumping arms with some of music's biggest entertainers. If you are in town you have to check out Puckett's which is a spot my sister and I like to go when I'm in town. or check out the historic downtown Franklin area.
