Perfect Complexion

Perfect Complexion

In previous posts, I've talked about skin care and how important it is (especially as you get older) to take good and proper care of your skin. If you're looking to go beyond just your basic regimen there are a few things you can consider especially if you're a man who is maybe isn't used to exploring other options rather than moisturizers. So this is mainly for the men out there who are uneducated on skincare, but also for women who want basic steps to flawless skin with minimal effort. So if you want to just go straight to what I recommend, skip to the bottom!

The expanding world of male skin care is rapidly increasing all over the world. Some interesting statistics I found for men and skincare:

54 percent use skincare products (moisturizer and eye cream)
33 percent wax/hair removal
29 percent get manicures
24 percent get facials
9 percent use foundation
11 percent use bronzer
10 percent use concealer

So we see that more men are paying more and more attention to the way they look. I've talked to a lot of my guy friends of all nationalities, sexualities, and backgrounds and I was surprised how many of them used some form of "make up" on a regular or semi-regular basis for basic things like discoloration, blemishes, etc. And guess what, there is NOTHING wrong with that!

The thing that is most terrifying for some men regarding "make up" is that they are:
1. Afraid of being emasculated
2. Have no idea what any of this "crap" is, or what it does
3. Don't want to have to go pick up products at the store

So I'm going to take all of those fears out for you!

TROUBLED SKIN:

What I use: Dior Nude BB Cream
What it does: BB Cream is basically a tinted moisturizer that creates a smooth and unnoticiable layer over your skin to smooth out any discolorations or imperfections.

Why I love it:
It really is a miracle for those days (or every day) when you don't feel confident how your skin looks. It's noticeable in the sense that you can tell that your skin looks perfect, but it doesn't look like you have make-up on.

How to use it:
Pump a very small amount on your finger and dab it lightly over your face. Lightly rub it in all over until it is completely absorbed into your skin.

Where to find it:
I would recommend going into a place like Sephora where you can get free samples to see what tint is best for you. Once you've done that, you can just order it online. You can find Dior Nude BB Cream online HERE or HERE.

SHINE / OVERY GREASY SKIN:

What I use: Benefit Pore-Fessional (Agent Zero Shine)

Why I love it:
This stuff is AMAZING! if you feel like you're always shiny and don't want people looking at their reflection in your forehead, this is what you need! It creates an invisible matte veil over your skin without any visible signs of coverage. Also, it was a company started in San Francisco!

How to use it:
Put a tiny bit on the brush which is included with the product and brush over your face in areas that you don't want to be shiny and it practically lasts all day.

Where to find it:
Any store that sells Benefit cosmetics or online HERE or HERE!
